We hiked to the top of "The Owl" a peak to the west of Katahdin with

| Thursday:
It became overcast with high
winds. We hiked to Chimney Pond with the hope of continuing over
Katahdin but conditions were too bad to continue. Instead we went

Some got an early start (6 AM) and went from Katahdin Stream Campground
over Katahdin and the knife edge and down to Roaring Brook Campground
(where Frank magnanimously drove to pick us up).Still Under

| Saturday rained all day so we broke
camp and went to the wooden boat show in Medway then drove partway
down. Sunday we continued home with a stop at LL Bean in
Freeport, Maine. |
